  1. Start the console session.

    Plug in ethernet cable to X0 port of device from PC ethernet port
    Plug power into device and if a power button exists, turn it on.
  2. Enter Safe Mode.

    Allow the device to boot up.
    Use a paperclip to press and hold down the "RST" pinhole button for 60+ seconds until the TEST LED comes on.

  3. Login with default credentials and erase configuration.

    Manually set the ethernet PC interface IP to the same subnet as the default IP of the device which is 192.168.1.254

    Open PuTTY and select "SSH" connection type, and enter 192.168.1.254 into the "Host Name (or IP address)" box, then click the "Open" button.
    For "login as:" type admin and for "Password:" type password:

    Type the configure command to enter config mode:

    Type the restore command and confirm with yes:
    config(0017C5CB3E64)# restore Warning! You are restoring factory defaults from a remote session. This means you will lose your session and the firewall will automatically reboot. After rebooting you will only be able to connect to the firewall though the LAN interface on the default ip, 192.168.168.168. Are you sure you wish to restore the device to factory defaults?   4. Copy all the output from the session into your records.

    Right-click PuTTY's titlebar, from that dropdown menu click on "Copy All to Clipboard"
    Open the file of record certifying the deconfiguration of this device and use CTRL V to paste all the output from PuTTY into that file. Formatting the text with a fixed-width font helps it look more readable.
  5. End the session.

    Turn off/unplug the device and close PuTTy.
