Motorola AP-7131N

  1. Start the console session.

    Plug in serial cable to console port of device from PC COM1 port
    Open PuTTY and select "Serial" connection type, set baud rate (Speed) to 19200, leave other settings as default.
    Plug power OR POE power-injector into device.
  2. Erase Configuration.

    After pressing Enter when prompted, type reset at the login:  prompt and FactoryDefault for the password:

    Allow the system to fully reboot.
  3. Check default login credentials work.

    After pressing Enter when prompted, type admin at the login:  prompt and either motorola OR admin123 for the password:
    Starting daemons.,..,,,,,,,,,....,,, Please press Enter to activate this console. ap7131-6C7B60 login: admin Password: motorola System is currently using the factory default login credentials. Please change the default password to protect from unauthorized access. Enter new password:
    Do not continue, just unplug power/console cables.
  4. Copy all the output from the session into your records.

    Right-click PuTTY's titlebar, from that dropdown menu click on "Copy All to Clipboard"
    Open the file of record certifying the deconfiguration of this device and use CTRL V to paste all the output from PuTTY into that file. Formatting the text with a fixed-width font helps it look more readable.
  5. End the session.

    Close PuTTy.
