Huawei AR169- ACCESS ROUTER

  1. Start the console session.

    Plug in serial cable to device from PC COM1 port
    Open PuTTY and select "Serial" connection type, leave baud rate (Speed) and other settings as default.
    Plug power into device and if a power button exists, turn it on.
  2. Power up the device and do a hard reset.

    Hold down reset button on back of device:

    Release the button after 5+ seconds.
  3. Reset the console password and boot.

    Press Ctrl B when prompted and before the countdown, and enter Admin@huawei at the Enter Password: prompt:

    Type 7 at the BootLoader Menu prompt:
    BootLoader Menu 1. Default Startup 2. Serial Menu 3. Network Menu 4. Startup Select 5. File Manager 6. Reboot 7. Password Manager Enter your choice(1-7):7
    Type 2 at the PassWord Manager prompt:
    PassWord Manager 1. Modify the menu password 2. Clear the console login password 0. Return Enter your choice(0-2):2 Clear the console login password Succeed!
    Type 0 at the Password Manager prompt, then 1 at the BootLoader Menu prompt to boot up.
  4. Erase the configuration and reboot.

    Press a key when prompted to get started, then type factory-configuration reset and confirm with y
    Press any key to get started <1422644mcpe01>factory-configuration reset Warning: It will clean the configuration which you have saved. If you have set the factory-configuration by hand, it will start from the modified factory- configuration, else it will start from the original one, when you restart the device. Continue? [y/n]:y Info: Successfully set factory config!
    Type reboot and confirm with y:

    Allow the boot sequence to finish.
  5. Check that logging in with default credentials works.

    After pressing a key when prompted to get started, type admin at the Username: prompt and Admin@huawei at the Password: prompt:

  6. Copy all the output from the session into your records.

    Right-click PuTTY's titlebar, from that dropdown menu click on "Copy All to Clipboard"
    Open the file of record certifying the deconfiguration of this device and use CTRL V to paste all the output from PuTTY into that file. Formatting the text with a fixed-width font helps it look more readable.
  7. End the session.

    Turn off/unplug the device and close PuTTy.
