  1. Start the console session.

    Plug in serial cable to console port of device from PC COM1 port.
    Open PuTTY and select "Serial" connection type, leave baud rate (Speed) and other settings as default.
    Plug a monitor into device using a VGA cable.
    Plug a USB keyboard into device USB port.
    Plug power into device and if a power button exists, turn it on.
  2. Set iLO to factory defaults

    Notice that there is an iLO IPv4 address set indicating the settings are non-default:

    When prompted press F8 to configure iLO:

    If presented with an authentication prompt for Login Name type Administrator:
    Login Name
    For Password type the printed random password found on the device:
    Password
    From the Menubar navigate to File -> Set Defaults:

    Press F10 to confirm:

    Press Enter at the next dialog to proceed:

  3. Erase System Settings and reboot.

    When keyboard input becomes available press F9 ensuring it indicates on screen that you did:
    pressF9
    In the ROM-Based Setup Utility navigate with the arrow keys down to System Default Options and press Enter to then select the submenu item Restore Default System Settings:
    RestoreDefault
    Press Enter to dismiss the warning dialog:
    WarningDialog
    Choose Yes, Select to Restore
    SystemSettings
    The system will restart indicating the settings were reset:

  4. Copy all the output from the session into your records.

    Right-click PuTTY's titlebar, from that dropdown menu click on "Copy All to Clipboard"
    Open the file of record certifying the deconfiguration of this device and use CTRL V to paste all the output from PuTTY into that file. Formatting the text with a fixed-width font helps it look more readable.
  5. End the session.

    Close PuTTy.
