Cisco KCC-REM-TNY-AIR-CT5760

  1. Start the console session.

    Plug in serial cable to console port of device from PC COM1 port
    Open PuTTY and select "Serial" connection type, leave baud rate (Speed) and other settings as default.
  2. Bypass any login.

    Hold down the Mode button on the device while plugging the power in, then release it after 30 seconds or when output appears:
    Xmodem file system is available. Base ethernet MAC Address: a0:55:4f:65:eb:00 Verifying bootloader digital signature. The system has been interrupted prior to loading the operating system software, console will be reset to 9600 baud rate.
    At the switch:  prompt type the SWITCH_IGNORE_STARTUP_CFG=1 command, followed by the boot command:
    switch: SWITCH_IGNORE_STARTUP_CFG=1 switch: boot Loading "flash:packages.conf"... Getting rest of image Reading full image into memory....done Reading full base package into memory...: done = 100799204 Verifying image digital signature.
    Further output will bring you to a prompt to enter the initial configuration dialog. Type n then press Enter when prompted to "Press RETURN to get started!":

  3. Erase configuration and check for licenses.

    Type the enable command at the Controller> prompt:

    List the files with the dir command and use the del command with pattern matching to delete any data bearing files, confirming with y:

  4. Copy all the output from the session into your records.

    Right-click PuTTY's titlebar, from that dropdown menu click on "Copy All to Clipboard"
    Open the file of record certifying the deconfiguration of this device and use CTRL V to paste all the output from PuTTY into that file. Formatting the text with a fixed-width font helps it look more readable.
  5. End the session.

    Close PuTTy.
