Cisco FPR-2130

  1. Start the console session.

    Plug in serial cable to console port of device from PC COM1 port
    Open PuTTY and select "Serial" connection type, leave baud rate (Speed) and other settings as default.
    Plug power into device and if a power button exists, turn it on.
  2. Access the Rommon prompt.

    Press the Esc key when prompted:
    Platform FPR-2130 with 32768 MBytes of main memory BIOS has been successfully locked !! MAC Address: 2c:4f:52:a5:db:80 Use BREAK or ESC to interrupt boot. Use SPACE to begin boot immediately. Boot interrupted.
  3. Erase configuration.

    Type the factory-reset command, confirming with yes then type ERASE in capitals and yes again when prompted:
    rommon 1 > factory-reset Warning: All configuration will be permanently lost with this operation and application will be initialized to default configuration. This operation cannot be undone after booting the application image. Are you sure you would like to continue ? yes/no [no]: yes Please type 'ERASE' to confirm the operation or any other value to cancel: ERASE Performing factory reset... Located '.boot_string' @ cluster 530028. Rommon will continue to boot the application: disk0:installables/switch/fxos-k8-fp2k-lfbff.2.6.1.230.SPA Are you sure you would like to continue ? yes/no [no]: yes
    Further output will bring you to the login:  prompt.
  4. Log in with default credentials.

    Type admin for the login, and case-sensitive Admin123 for the password:

  5. Copy all the output from the session into your records.

    Right-click PuTTY's titlebar, from that dropdown menu click on "Copy All to Clipboard"
    Open the file of record certifying the deconfiguration of this device and use CTRL V to paste all the output from PuTTY into that file. Formatting the text with a fixed-width font helps it look more readable.
  6. End the session.

    Close PuTTy.
