AVAYA G430

  1. Start the console session.

    Plug power into device and if a power button exists, turn it on.
    Plug in ethernet cable to service port of device from PC
    Manually set the ethernet PC interface IPv4 to 192.11.13.5 with mask of 255.255.255.252
    Open PuTTY and select "SSH" connection type, and enter 192.11.13.6 into the "Host Name (or IP address)" box, then click the "Open" button.
  2. Log in and erase configuration.

    Type root when prompted for login, and if prompted for password type ggdaseuaimhrke to enter SuperUser mode:
    login as: root root@192.11.13.6's password: ggdaseuaimhrke
    Type the nvram init command and y to confirm:
    Survivable-call-engine is disabled G430-???(super)# nvram init *** Warning*** - This operation will reset the device, disconnect all sessions and restore factory defaults! Do you want to continue (Y/N)? y Done!
    If there was no password prompt and you were instead asked to create your own, it will also be erased.
    With firmware version 36.5 onwards this procedure will fail and you will instead need to bridge jumper pins on the main circuitboard.
  3. Copy all the output from the session into your records.

    Right-click PuTTY's titlebar, from that dropdown menu click on "Copy All to Clipboard"
    Open the file of record certifying the deconfiguration of this device and use CTRL V to paste all the output from PuTTY into that file. Formatting the text with a fixed-width font helps it look more readable.
  4. End the session.

    Close PuTTy.
