APC AP5201 KVM Switch

  1. Start the console session.

    Plug a monitor into device using a VGA cable.
    Plug a USB keyboard into device USB/PS2 port.
    Do NOT turn the device on yet.
  2. Reset the password.

    Open the top cover and short the jumper marked Restore Default Password.
    With the jumper shorted, plug in/turn on power to the device and wait until the LEDs stop blinking, then turn off the power.
    Return the jumper to the open position, and replace the cover.
    Turn the power back on for the device. The assigned usernames and passwords will all be cleared.
  3. Log in with default credentials.

    Leave both username and password blank, just press the Enter key:

  4. Erase configuration.

    Press F4 for the Administrator (ADM) menu:
    Administrator
    Navigate using the keyboard arrow keys to the CLEAR THE NAME LIST menu item and press the Enter key:
    Names
    Navigate to the RESTORE DEFAULT VALUES menu item, press Enter then press Y to confirm:
    Defaults
    Navigate down to the RESET STATION IDS menu item, press Enter then press Y to confirm:
    IDs
  5. End the session.

    Unplug the VGA, keyboard and power leads from the device.
