A10 Networks THUNDER 1030S

NOTE: This guide is only useful if the default system password has not been changed and the enable password has not been set.
  1. Start the console session.

    Plug in serial cable to console port of device from PC COM1 port
    Open PuTTY and select "Serial" connection type, leave baud rate (Speed) and other settings as default.
    Plug power into device and if a power button exists, turn it on.
  2. Gain elevated access to the command line.

    Press Esc when prompted and before the countdown ends:

    When prompted type admin for the User name and a10 for the password:

    At the ACOS(LOADING)> prompt type the enable command and leave the Password blank, just press Enter:

  3. Erase configuration.

    At the ACOS(LOADING)# prompt type the config command:
    ACOS(LOADING)#config
    At the ACOS(config)# prompt type the erase reload command and type y to confirm:
    ACOS(config)#erase reload Please confirm: Erase startup configuration (Y/N)?: y System has reloaded successfully. ACOS(config)# ACOS(LOADING)# Session closed
  4. Copy all the output from the session into your records.

    Right-click PuTTY's titlebar, from that dropdown menu click on "Copy All to Clipboard"
    Open the file of record certifying the deconfiguration of this device and use CTRL V to paste all the output from PuTTY into that file. Formatting the text with a fixed-width font helps it look more readable.
  5. End the session.

    Close PuTTy.
